London, UK — February 2026
This season at London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2026 felt different.
Amid the runways and presentations, a powerful new platform made its debut: Brand63Africa — an initiative created to elevate designers of African heritage within the global luxury space. Christie Brown was proud to be part of the inaugural cohort.
Founded by cultural strategist Eva Omaghomi, Brand63Africa takes its name from 1963, the founding year of the African Union. It represents unity, shared vision, and the continued rise of African creativity on the world stage.
Representing Ghana Globally
As part of the cohort, Christie Brown presented curated designs alongside fellow brands from across the African diaspora — including Abiola Olusola (Nigeria), Sukeina (Senegal), Studio Namnyak (Kenya), and The Cloth (Trinidad & Tobago).
The showcase welcomed international press, buyers, and distinguished guests, including King Charles III — a moment that underscored the growing global recognition of African design excellence.
For us, this was more than a presentation. It was a continuation of the work we’ve been building for years: positioning Modern African Luxury with confidence, craft, and cultural depth.
Beyond Visibility: Infrastructure
What sets Brand63Africa apart is its commercial foundation. The platform launched with an official retail partnership with Harrods, meaning pieces from the inaugural cohort will be available in-store for AW26/27.
This matters.
It signals movement beyond symbolic inclusion toward meaningful access — ensuring African designers are integrated into global retail systems, not simply showcased within them.
A Moment — and a Momentum
London Fashion Week AW26 was filled with creative energy, bold storytelling, and evolving conversations about heritage and identity. Being part of Brand63Africa placed Christie Brown within a broader shift happening across the industry — one that embraces diverse narratives not as trends, but as essential voices shaping the future of fashion.
For Christie Brown, this milestone affirms what we have always believed:
African luxury is not emerging.
It is established.
And we remain committed to building from Ghana — for the world.
